THE POWER OF YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND- JOSEPH MURPHY

“Remember that the thankful heart is always close to the riches of the universe.”

My very first book recommendation by a reader was The Power of Your Subconscious Mind (TPYSM). I wouldn’t also hesitate to mention, that this review is long overdue. Apologies to Maaz Momin for the delay, but I’m finally here with a brutally honest review of this marveling book.

I had heard a few people talk about this book as one of the most highly influential books for self-help. It has also been on the list of the select few non-fictional books that seemed to have caught the attention of the masses. The book consists of 20 topics that are basically questions that any curious reader would tend to ask. (E.g. How to use your subconscious mind for forgiveness, how it helps clear mental blocks, how to stay young in spirit…etc.) Not all topics are questions, but most of them are. Every topic/ question is answered in the explanation that consists of various anecdotes, life experiences, researched facts and so.

Due to the same, I felt like the book was dragged a little and some notions or facts were made seriously incomprehensible. Some lessons were worth every minute of reading, whereas some made me feel like there wasn’t much good that came out of it for me. For this, I’d suggest the reader to sit down and glance through the index and read through only those chapters which seem of interest to you. Time and again you might want to come back to see if the book holds any particular topic of your interest. This also makes the book act more of a course-book or a reference book. And as Francis Bacon said, “Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested…” it is alright to not finish every book you start!

The book will seriously help you understand the vast and unfathomable power that rests within the minds of every human being on this planet. Joseph Murphy’s words are wisdom to live by. An overall 3/5 rating for The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.
